Joe has been with Tonneson + Co for 14 years and has 20 years of experience in public accounting. He serves closely-held businesses and their respective owners in the manufacturing, distribution, software, retail and professional services sectors. Joe has significant experience in state and local taxation, advisory services and mergers and acquisitions. He takes a hands-on approach to building relationships with clients, tailoring the level of involvement to their specific needs.

Joe is a CPA who earned a B.S. with a concentration in accounting from University of Massachusetts Lowell and a M.S. in taxation from Bentley University. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and the Massachusetts Society of CPAs (MSCPA). Beyond his daily responsibilities, Joe supports many of the firm’s volunteer initiatives, including the annual Tonneson 5k race that benefits the Wakefield Interfaith Food Pantry.

Outside of work, Joe enjoys coaching his children’s sports teams, golfing, mountain biking, running and spending time with his family. Joe also participates in the alumni association for Malden Catholic High School where he serves as a mentor to high school students.
