Today, Governor Charile Baker, Lt. Governor Karyn Polito, Senate President Karen Spilka and House Speaker Robert DeLeo announced an agreement to extend the 2019 state individual income tax filing and payment deadline from April 15 to July 15, 2020 due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The Massachusetts state income tax relief is automatic, and taxpayers to not need to file any additional forms to qualify. To learn more, refer to the press release on the State of MA website.

Please note, the information we have received thus far does not include the extension of the due dates for Estate, Trust, C Corporation return or first quarterly estimates for these entities which are also due on April 15th, 2020. We expect that we will receive clarity on these returns and payments when the MA DOR issues the notice of change today or early next week. We will update this notice as we receive further information.
