This position is responsible for providing a broad spectrum of support to the Tax Department in a fast-paced, challenging and rewarding environment. This position will work closely with the Tax Executives and Tax Administrator on various projects and day-to-day assignments. Requirements include extensive people, communication, organizational, technical and process skills, and the ability to continuously prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Essential job functions include:
- Assist with facilitating day to day processes within the department
- Review of correspondence, reports, and other documents; prioritizes such materials and prepares summaries as necessary
- Assist in the development of training materials and department communications
- Assist in maintaining databases, spreadsheets, project trackers, etc. to be current and accurate
- Assist with third-party vendor follow-up and project management
- Coordinates with Tax Administrator to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of workflows
Preparation, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or related field required
- 5+ years in an administrative capacity with Tax operations preferred
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with all Microsoft applications
- Proven ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Tech-savvy with the ability and desire to embrace necessary software applications i.e. CCH Axcess applications,
- SurePrep, SafeSend Return (SSR), RightSignature
- Strong attention to detail with precise follow-through
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Calm under pressure with common sense and flexible approach to situations
- Basic understanding of accounting and/or its environment is a plus
- Flexibility to work additional hours during peak periods of the year
