The Senior Audit Associate is responsible for planning engagements, performing fieldwork, preparation of full disclosure financial statements and required reports for management and regulating agencies, performing other non-audit accounting services, and preparation of tax returns. This position is responsible for supporting the growth of co-workers thru answering questions, teaching firm policy, accounting procedures, and software.
Responsibilities include:
- Run client engagements from start to finish, which includes planning, executing fieldwork on schedule with associate staff as applicable, and completing engagements
- Identify value added suggestions from audit and reviews for client utilization
- Apply basic accounting and auditing and tax knowledge to more complex and multiple projects
- Identify problem areas and client issues and propose solutions to managers and partners
- Supervise, train, and mentor associates in audit and review process
- Become involved in staff development
- Identify technical skills needed for improvement and improve through CPE, personal commitment, and on-the-job training
- Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality
- Special projects as assigned
Qualifications include:
- 2-7 years experience
- Strong analytical, general ledger, problem-solving, interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong teamwork, communication, and analytical skills
- Ability to travel to client locations as required
- Proficiency in MS Office applications
- Experience with ProSystemFx products is a plus
- Must be working toward the successful completion of the CPA exam
