The Client Accounting and Advisory Services Manager position is responsible for leading a team of 4 – 5 accountants delivering monthly accounting and financial reporting. While this is a Manager role, this person will remain very hands-on and personally design policies, onboard new clients, deliver high-level accounting and advisory, and lead budgeting and forecasting while also delegating and managing the work of your team members.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Provide exceptional accounting and advisory service to our clients
- Manage small business accounting projects for various clients
- Onboarding new clients
- Troubleshoot matters as the need arises
- Managing distribution of workflows and deadlines
- Record and reconcile monthly general ledger account activity, including accruals and prepaids
- Analyze and monitor financial information, including variance analysis and cash management
- Prepare year-end closings to be used for tax preparation purposes
- Provide payroll services as needed, including monthly and quarterly payroll tax filings
- Payment of vendor invoices utilizing bill pay software and wire transfers
- Maintain client contact and provide excellent customer service
- Proactively anticipate client needs
- Provide training when necessary and review work of others
- Keep abreast of the latest developments in technologies to deliver outstanding quality service
- Complete special projects and other requests as needed
PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- 10+ years of true debits and credits accounting experience
- Experience in public accounting or other dynamic multi-client environment is a plus
- Experience with managing personnel
- Licensed CPA preferred but not required
- QuickBooks experience required
- Payroll experience preferred but not required
- Proficient in Excel
- Strong organizational skills
- Attention to detail, ability to multi-task
- Strong interpersonal skills
