Bookkeeping Associate

The Bookkeeping Associate is responsible for managing small business accounting projects for select clients. This individual will report to the manager of the department and work within a team of 6. Responsibilities include monthly account postings and reconciliations, year-end closings to be used for tax preparation purposes including completion of Forms 1099, as well as overall management of numerous account responsibilities and coordination of delivery of the finished product. This individual should possess strong communication skills, the ability to work with cross-functional teams, and a proven ability to manage his/her workload in a fast paced, deadline-driven, challenging environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage small business accounting projects for select clients
  • Monthly account postings and reconciliations
  • Year-end closings to be used for tax preparation purposes
  • Maintain client contact and provide excellent customer service
  • Proactively anticipate clients’ needs
  • Special projects and other requests as needed

Qualifications include:

  • Experience in QuickBooks and/or other accounting software products
  • At least three years of accounting experience
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Strong interpersonal skills – will need to work closely with both clients and firm staff
