She is a Principal and the Director of Audit and Accounting at tonneson + co and has over twenty years of public accounting experience. Kathy specializes in the audit and accounting of closely held businesses, primarily manufacturers, distributors and service industries. She also monitors the firm’s quality control system by annually performing internal inspections or coordinating the firm’s peer review. In addition, she performs pre-issuance reviews of financial statements as a quality control function.

Kathy’s focus is on providing clients with efficient quality audits, reviews and compilations of financial statements as well as annual tax return planning and preparation. Additional expertise includes extensive experience with audits of employee benefit plans, mergers and acquisitions, litigation support, finance consulting, the preparation of financial projections and non-profit accounting.
She works closely with the management team of a variety of clients to meet their needs both as an auditor or accountant and as a trusted business advisor. Through continually updating colleagues and clients on new accounting and tax issues that will affect their financial and tax reporting, she has become a trusted business resource. She believes in timely service and enjoys helping clients to see a clear financial picture of their organization, as well as helping them understand the financial results that enable them to make informed business decisions.

Kathy received her Bachelor of Arts in Financial Economics with a concentration in Accounting from St. Anselm College. Kathy is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants.
