About Heidi MacLean
She is the Partner in charge of Tax at tonneson + co and has over thirty years of public accounting experience. Heidi has strengths in consulting for privately held businesses and service organizations, tax planning and wealth development including financial planning, estates and trusts, and exit/succession planning. In addition, Heidi has worked extensively with existing non-profit organizations in New England as well as assisting new companies in obtaining exempt status.

Heidi works with diverse types and sizes of organizations. Ms. MacLean has experience with partnerships, limited liability companies and trusts as well as corporate and international matters, budgeting and mergers and acquisitions. She works closely with her clients and assists on their long-term vision and to plan for changes that may occur in their short or long-term operational needs. She has assisted in the analysis and due diligence on both the purchase and sales side of transactions.
She takes an active role in assisting owners with the accumulation, protection, and transfer of their wealth. Ms. MacLean’s focus helps closely-held businesses understand and plan for the transfer of their company, which is often the most important asset they own. For her non-profit clients, she provides direction to help these organizations work toward achieving their long-term mission objectives. Heidi can take on the role of tax planner or business consultant which can vary based on each client’s needs.
Education & Associations
Heidi is a Certified Public Accountant in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. She received a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Southern Maine, a Masters of Taxation, and a Masters of Accounting, both from Bentley College. Heidi is also a Certified Financial Planner and a Personal Financial Specialist. She serves on the board of Farmsteads of New England, Inc., a non-profit organization that assists in providing housing and quality of life for developmentally disabled adults and children. Ms. MacLean is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Massachusetts and New Hampshire Societies of Certified Public Accountants.
